Hello, and welcome to Thank Goodness it’s Finished Friday, the very last one for the year! I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that this year has just flown, and I hope that you’ve been happy and busy in all the good ways.

I have been a very busy little sewing mouse this year, and before I show you a round up of my favourites from this year, I’d like to show you the last project that I made and finished this year, a very very last minute Christmas present for my MIL.

So last minute in fact, that I decided to make it only on the eve of Christmas Eve, and stitched the pic of the little mouse that night. It turned out even cuter than I thought, and I was even more motivated to finish it…

This is made using lots of soft, feminine pinks, and pale greens. I’ve used Bespoke Blooms, Fleurs, some text prints and a little bit of linen. The little mouse’s ears have a scrap of tiny Japanese floral as well. I must say that I’ve fallen for ‘sewing illustration’ or raw edge applique in a very big way! I just adore this style…

The patchwork, scrappy back is my favourite collection at the moment, and even has a tiny bit of Liberty lawn added on the top and bottom.

I had great fun adding the insides in, and stitching down little pockets and flowers. My wool felt collection has come in very handy, as I seem to have a colour to match everything now.

I really didn’t want to stop, and could have kept on embellishing the pages forever. I put the last stitch in very late Christmas Eve, when I was semi satisfied with the amount of decorating. It makes my own poor needle book look very shabby in comparison!

I’m happy to report that mum loved it, and that’s what it was all about!

Having a photo record of my sewing achievements has been very satisfying to look back on and pull together. I really amazed myself to see all that I’ve done this year, and this is really only a fraction.

Here’s forty of my favourite projects for 2016. You might notice bunnies feature very prominently…

Most of these pics have been pulled from my Instagram feed, which is such a lovely place to find supportive like minded crafters.

It’s been a huge year for me, with my first two projects published in Homespun magazine, winning a prize for my little #miniminiquilt, writing my first amigurumi pattern, coordinating a special secret quilt for Lisa at A Spoonful of Sugar, and much, much more. I am truly thankful and grateful to God for giving me these opportunities and blessings!

It’s been so fun to share my designs with you, make new friends, and enjoy so much support and encouragement from so many!

Now it’s your turn to link up a finish for the year…Thanks for stopping by!
