Well I’ve fallen a fair bit behind with posting these blocks sorry!
If you’re following me on Instagram, you’d know that I am actually keeping up…a total first for me for any quilt along! Quite a number of you have said that you’ve appreciated me posting these blocks, and the tips that I’ve shared too. If you’d like to catch up on my earlier blocks and tips, the links for the other blocks are here: Blocks 1-4, blocks 5-6, blocks 7-10, blocks 11-14, blocks 15-18, blocks 19-22.
This post doesn’t have any step by step shots, but sometimes even seeing the blocks up nice and close can you help you figure out how to put them together.
This block is a firm favourite! Block 23, was just perfect for fussy cutting the little ducks and their watering cans.
Block 24, is another whole cloth block. Is that the term?? Anyway, I had been putting these easy ones off, and thought it was time I stopped procrastinating about choosing these ones. I decided that some larger print fabrics would work well. This one is a lovely swirly floral linen that I inherited from my Grandma-in-law. It’s very special to me, and I love being able to include nostalgic fabrics like it in this quilt!
Block 25 -For the centre piece I used some of favourite Melly & Me fabric from the Flutterberry line. Another lovely fussy cut!
The white background print is actually from a sheet set I bought for my daughter when she first moved into a big bed! I cut the top sheet up and used it in a patchwork quilt for her, and still have plenty of the leftovers. The design was called ‘Sweet pea’, and I still LOVE it after 10 years. The fabric is great quality, and beautiful to use.
Block 26 is the latest needle turn applique block, and will hopefully star in my first ever instructional video! Woo hoo!! This is quite the undertaking for me peoples! I’m hoping to release it in the next few days…
And block 27. More ducks with their watering cans! I love the cheery yellow and orange combination. The large print with the orange square is a Sevenberry that I found at Spotlight…yay! So exciting to see some of these prints making their way to Aussie main stores.
Stay tuned for some more updates on my blocks…and I hope you’re all having fun quilting along with us!
