Do you remember that excitement as a child, of the night before Christmas?

The only night that was second (possibly!) to the eve of your birthday, when you couldn’t sleep with anticipation?

There were so many things to look forward to, but there was just something enchanting about gazing at a pile of presents and knowing that some of them were for you!

Gift Exchange - A Celebration of the Magic of Christmas (in July!) - quilting is only limited to your imagination

It’s so easy to be caught up in our busy lives, and ticking off our to-do lists.

But whether you are the main person who now supplies the contents of these gifts for others, or still enjoys the mystery of a wrapped present, there’s so much to savour.

I really enjoy wrapping gifts, and have been known to spend more on the wrapping than the present!!

Well this is my celebration of all things magical in the joy of Christmas and the holiday season. This fun little pattern means whether you enjoy wrapping presents, giving presents or receiving them, there’s an aspect that can appeal to you.

Last month I showed you this gorgeous Liberty bundle, and now I can finally reveal what some of the prints have gone into…they are just perfect as presents in this design!

I’ve incorporated some older classic Liberties as well, and few stripes and solids for contrast.

If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you might have seen some of my sneak peeks!

I just had sooo much fun making and quilting this design, from selecting the fabrics, to adding definition to the presents, snowballs to the snow,

and classic straight line quilting to the background of the sky.

Gift Exchange - A Celebration of the Magic of Christmas (in July!) - sitting pretty ready for the holidays

To say I’m proud of this pillow is an understatement! I’ve poured sooo much love into making it perfect, and savoured adding every stitch!

This is a skill builder, suitable for a confident beginner who’s willing to try sewing with small pieces.

It will test your level of accuracy, but if you’re up to the challenge, it’s totally worth it, being only a variety of squares, rectangles, half square triangles and quarter square triangles.

Gift Exchange - A Celebration of the Magic of Christmas (in July!) - look at that gorgeous quilting up close quilting

I’ve become quite a fan of exposed zippers lately! After seeing this gorgeous range of nylon metallic zips by the metre, I was hooked.

I love this great tutorial to add a zipper closure to a pillow. You’ll find it really will be the most painless zipper you’ve ever inserted, and is such a fun feature to display instead of disguise!

When you’re made of rose gold, you’ve got nothing to hide after all!

The pdf version of the pattern has 16 full colour pages with clear instructions and graphics to step you through the whole process.

Included is a colouring page to draft your own design scheme, and lettering sets to label all your pieces.

I’ve also produced Gift Exchange as a printed A5 booklet, with separate detatched colouring sheet and lettering sets.

And I couldn’t resist sharing one of my tester’s pics with you…

Jasmine of the etsy shop Linen Bouquet Designs did a superb job of sewing this up using Art Gallery’s Winterland bundle. Her piecing and quilting is just perfect, and he even added a swing tag which is the cutest little embellishment!

The fabric just might be on sale in her shop ;).
