12 Minis in 12 Months

This is a challenge to sew a mini quilt every month this year, and there are some fun prizes up for grabs.I'm adding in my own prize this month...scroll down to find out how you can win one my pineapple minis!Funnily enough, before I saw this challenge, I had the idea to try and sew a mini quilt a month, and start myself the display wall that I've wanted for ages. Since I saw Camille Roskelley's of course...But it wasn't until I had a sew day with Samantha of @aqua_paisley, and saw her magnificent mini quilt walls, that I decided that this year was the year. And what better way than to start with a pineapple block mini?

This block is really fast...chain piecing all the way, and I got the whole thing done in less than three hours from pulling fabric to binding.And the best part is that when you make one of these pineapple blocks, you're really making nearly two, so it made sense to make the other one while I was at it. And what would I do with two mini's you ask??Why, give it away of course! If I want to start a mini quilt wall, I'm sure some of you would too.

So I selected some gorgeous fabrics, cute fussy cuts, and the most delicious mustards that I had in my stash. Boy has that colour grown on me over the last couple of years!See any you recognise in there?

They are both slightly different, one has a pinker hue, and the other is much more yellow and mustard.

There's even a little bit of the new Tilda Lemontree collection in there, left over from the quilt I made with it.

Both are quilted with a mustard coloured thread, and that turtle's giving those racing cars a run for their money!

The backing on this one is from the Tilda Bumblbee collection, another lovely mustard colour. The other one is also one of the mustard prints from the collection.
