I have a fun project to share with you today, revamping the $7 Kmart clock! This is part of Kmart's homewares range, and sometimes I am impressed with the range and value of what they come up out with. Here's what it looked like originally, and I'm sure many other Aussie households have the exact same. This is not a bad look at all, I just had a sudden flash of inspiration of how I could make it more 'me'. I had a vision of soft romantic roses, with a white background.

The first step was to disassemble it, which turned out to be very easy...at every step of this project I kept thinking that surely it couldn't be this easy. But I need to stop my negative attitude :). It really was easy...

Here it is in parts, if you're going to try this, make sure to bag them up safely, so nothing grows legs and walks away, something that frequently happens in my house...I then proceeded to try and design a new face for it in Adobe Illustrator. Me and him are not currently friends, despite my dogged determination. However I had a plan B...my talented teenager, who is best buddies with the whole Adobe Creative Suite, and thankfully still works for free (for me!).This is stock photo of my vision that he found for me, just gorgeous!

A few coats of rustoleum's satin spray paint, and the black was transformed. This took about only half a can, making the whole process great value, and very quick. Here's my finished clock...it looks every bit the vision I had in my head :)

So have a go at transforming a Kmart clock, I'd love to see what you've done!Ali :)
