Meet the beautiful Sunday Baking Apron

Hi sewists!

I unpicked the same hem three times on Tuesday night, sitting at the kitchen table long after everyone else had gone to bed.

Third time was the one that finally sat right — that quiet, ridiculous satisfaction of a seam finally lying flat.

The same week, a parcel arrived from Amazon. Something I'd ordered without really thinking, one Sunday afternoon, half-scrolling.

I genuinely can't tell you now what made me click "buy" — and by Thursday I'd half-forgotten I was even waiting on it.

There's a difference between those two things arriving into my home, and it isn't really about quality. It's that one of them has a story — a Tuesday night, a hem I got wrong twice, a decision to try again instead of leaving it — and the other one just... appeared. Nothing to remember, because nothing was really invested in choosing it.

I think that's part of why I keep coming back to this table, even on the nights I'm tired.

Not because everything I make is perfect — most of it isn't — but because it's the difference between a home slowly filling with things that have a story, and one just filling up. If you've got a project half-finished somewhere, waiting for its own Tuesday night — I'd love to hear about it.
