Welcome to a new year, and a fresh new start!

Have you made some sewing plans yet?

I have some great plans for this year, and a lot of them include Liberty!

Through the holiday and Christmas period, I've continued to work on my Pemberley BOM, and really enjoyed the extra time for slow stitching.

Happy New Year with Liberty - January Society - Pemberley Jane block

This is my third Jane block, and tenth block overall.

I have to say it's my favourite block to date, as I just love the cooler colours and all the movement that it has.

If you're getting stuck with fabric choices for your Pemberley blocks, remember that having a good amount of contrast between fabrics really helps to give a pleasing finish.

Make sure there's a mix of busy prints and calmer ones, so your eye has somewhere to rest.

This doesn't mean your block has to be boring!

There's still plenty of room to play with colour and interesting fussy cuts.

You can make each block a true journey of discovery for those who come to use the finished quilt in the future.

Another plan I have this year is to introduce a series on working with Liberty - a complete 'how to' guide that will hold your hand and help you get the most out of your valuable fabrics.

I'm very excited to begin sharing this with you all, and so I'd love you to hit me with your questions!

What do you find specifically challenging about working with Liberty, what have you found works for you, and what would you like to know more about?

Here's January's Society Chip, a pretty rainbow of modern and traditional designs.

So many possibilities with all these beauties! I'm loving the low volume options in this month sooo much!
